History: 

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national identity card was implemented in 2002, and is compulsory for citizens over the age of 18. A new identity card was introduced on March 1, 2013, and includes information written in Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian (using the Cyrillic alphabet), and English. The 2013 series of cards include biometric data, stored electronically.
